Why this deliberately doesn't pull live pricing
This stays a manual-input tool on purpose rather than integrating a maps or ride-hailing API — you supply the distance and the rate that actually apply to you, and the arithmetic runs consistently, offline, without tracking anything or depending on a service that might return a different number tomorrow.
What "distance × rate" leaves out
This covers only the distance component of a fare. Real cab and rental charges routinely add tolls, parking, waiting time and night surcharges on top of the base per-km rate, so treat this as the starting figure rather than the final one — the toll calculator on this site handles the toll portion specifically if you need to add that in.
Using it for mileage reimbursement specifically
For employee mileage claims, enter your organisation's official reimbursement rate per kilometre — often meaningfully lower than a commercial cab tariff — alongside the actual distance travelled, and the total is exactly what you're entitled to claim.
